A complete different way of sight-seeing in Barcelona; put on your running shoes and participate in the marathon of Barcelona. The start is at Plaza España with great views of the MNAC which used to be the summer palace of the king. Fresh from the start you will make your way to Barcelona´s football pride, Camp Nou where Barça plays. You will cross the neighborhoods of Les Corts and Sants, which you probably never have seen yet. Run on towards some of Gaudi´s masterpieces, La Pedrera and the impressive Sagrada Familia.
From some touristic sights you will be guided through Avenida Meridiana. Did you know that this street was named like this because it actually runs parallel to the meridian? Yes, they are very original with their names, the street Parallel runs parallel of the equator and Diagonal runs diagonally through the city. You will see them all. There are some high lights awaiting you: pass by the modern and historical pieces of Catalan history, Torre Agbar, Olympic Port, Parc Ciutadella, Arc de Triomf, Las Ramblas and then with your last breath to the finish.
Most people take a couple of days to see so many things of Barcelona, get tired feet from walking all day, but the die hards will do it in a couple of hours. Will you make it in 4 hours???

Every season has its specialties and every region has its traditions. Between December and March it´s the season for calçots, a spring onion type of vegetable. You don´t just eat this onion like food, but you should enjoy everything that comes with it.
Gather with a group of friends or family, sit along a long, rustic table and wear old clothes because you will get dirty. Usually the calçotada starts with a glass of cava to get in the mood. Then role up your sleeves, pull back your hair and put on a bib. You will be presented with a plate with on the grill blackened spring onions and a reddish sauce, the romesco sauce. (Every mother makes the best, and they should deserve this credit because it requires quite some preparation). Now the fun starts. With your left hand you hold the top end of the calçot, with your right hand you start pulling off the outside layer. You remain with the peeled veggie in your hand. Dip this generously in the sauce, hold above your head and let it slowly drop it in your mouth. (It´s almost like the Dutch eat haring.)
After this course the main course still has to start. This usually consists of a lot of meat, either from the grill or a variety of butifara, local sausages. If you haven´t had enough you can finish with crema catalana and of course finish with a café solo or cortado.
The best place to go is a masía, a country house, preferably with its own winery. M&D Events and Incentives will take you there with a comfortable coach. Start your day with a visit at a bodega or cava and see the beautiful country side of Cataluña before starting this feast.
One of the most famous places to visit in Barcelona is the Sagrada Familia. The full name of this amazing construction is the Basílica de la Sagrada Familia, or if you translate it; the Holy Family Church. It is one of the master pieces of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who took over the architectural design and the construction from the also Catalan architect Francisco de Paula Villar y Lozano. The church is not finished till today, partly because the construction of it is financed by public donations.
The interior of the church is finished since November and also open for visitors. The visitors were already able to visit the interior part of the church, but what once was a construction site has now been transformed into a place for the Sunday mass and where everybody can enjoy pieces of the Catalan Modernism. The particular style of Gaudi can be recognised through the junction of nature as an organic part of the architecture. You can see this in all his buildings through the colours he uses, the curved lines instead of straight lines, and small parts that has been elaborated into the finest detail.
It sure is worth your time for a renewed visit of this beautiful church when you are in Barcelona. Bear in mind that the church counts with a lot of visitors, so it is better to make a reservation. You can get your entrance ticket at the local Tourism Office, and of course you can count on us if you want to book your tickets and/or excursion guide. We would be pleased to show you that Gaudi’s thinking Out of the Box (curved lines instead of straight lines), goes together with the concepts of our events and incentives that we organise and execute at M&D Events and Incentives.
Madrid was the place to be on the 7th of November 2010 and M&D Events and Incentives was there! Not just to enjoy the city and feeling the buzz of the 2010 MTV European Music Awards, but actually being part of it.
M&D organized for MTV the official afterparty in Madrid´s famous Club Kudeta. Not only took M&D care of accommodation, transfers and flights of famous Dutch dj´s, we also made sure that Club Kudeta was completely styled in MTV´s official branding.
Coming out of the Caja Mágica where the MTV awards were given to the greatest artists of 2010 we headed to the Club Kudeta. The private transfer took the guests to Club Kudéta where we were all eager to continue the party. And yes, we did, everybody danced the night away till early in the morning.
